Max Porter - An unforgettable day out
Description
Enjoy an incredible day out with the multi-award-winning author Max Porter. His best sellers include Booker prize longlisted Lanny and Grief is the Thing with Feathers, while his screen adaptation of his novel Shy, starring Cillian Murphy, is currently in post-production with Netflix.
Taking inspiration from his second novel Lanny, Max will pick you up from Bath train station, or some other mutually convenient spot, and drive you to Stanton Drew. He will take you for a walk in the Great Circle of stones, one of Britain's most extraordinary ancient landmarks. And then buy you a pint of ale and fish and chips in The Druid's Arms Pub and give you a signed, dedicated and Pagan-doodled first edition hardback of Lanny.
Porter is also the author of The Death of Francis Bacon, praised as ‘a miniature masterpiece’ and the short film All of this Unreal Time. Max frequently collaborates with musicians, songwriters, artists and theatre-makers. He is currently writer in residence in a UK prison and will chair the judging panel for the International Booker Prize 2025.
Terms and Conditions: This prize is for one or two people and will take place on a date that is mutually convenient for the winning bidder and Max Porter.
