Become a character in a future book… Malorie Blackman OBE

Your character name will feature in Malorie’s next project, which she is still developing. Whatever it is, we know it will be EXCITING! The acclaimed Noughts & Crosses author and former Children’s Laureate, last month won the prestigious PEN Pinter Prize as an author of outstanding literary merit who casts an ‘unflinching, unswerving gaze upon the world’.

Malorie Blackman has written over 70 books for children and young adults, including Thief and a science-fiction thriller, Chasing the Stars. Many of her books have also been adapted for stage and television, including a BAFTA award-winning BBC production of Pig-Heart Boy (shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal), and the major BBC production of Noughts & Crosses which launched in 2020.

In 2005 Malorie was honoured with the Eleanor Farjeon Award in recognition of her distinguished contribution to the world of children's books and in 2008 she received an OBE for her services to children's literature.
