Description

Soak up the literary inspiration that surrounds you in this holiday home in the village that provided a setting for Tess of the d’Urbervilles.

Enjoy a literary weekend deep in the heart of Thomas Hardy country! Stay for three nights in this classic thatched cottage in a peaceful Dorset village that was the model for Flintcomb-Ash in Tess of the D’Urbervilles. Low beams, an open fire, lots of books, and a glorious country pub only 50 paces from the front door! Walk in the surrounding hills, visit the cottage where he grew up and Max Gate where Hardy wrote Tess and Jude the Obscure, hunt for fossils on the famous Jurassic Coast, or visit nearby vineyards. Dorset is a beautiful county that will keep you busy – or you can simply settle down and read by the fire. The cottage has three bedrooms and comfortably sleeps six. A bottle of Dorset’s finest fizz awaits you.

Terms and Conditions: Dates for this experience are to be agreed in advance by Tracy Chevalier and the winning bidder. Property sleeps up to six people, travel not included.
